Welcome to S4HQ

What brings me joy?

How can I help?

What’s my inspiration?

These are questions I’ve found myself reflecting on in the lead-up to starting my own consulting firm. Focusing on how I can make a difference, what I find frustrating about public health and healthcare, and my dedication to improvement science led me to starting Solutions for Health Quality, LLC. My aim is to find belonging, mastery, autonomy, and purpose by helping others build community, embrace systems-level change, and engage the people they serve.

I'm very excited to officially launch S4HQ! Starting this business was a dream of mine that became reality even sooner than I anticipated. While setting forth on a new path can feel daunting, I'm going to practice what I've always preached. Think big, start small, and learn fast. I've been very fortunate to work on amazing projects with passionate and talented people, but I am extremely grateful for an opportunity to share my story and expertise on a broader scale.

I'm particularly looking forward to having a space to share more off-the-cuff than I am able to during training sessions or webinars. I know something I was looking for throughout my journey was a practical look into tough topics like systems transformation, behavior change, team work, patient experience, project management, and innovative metrics that were specific to the healthcare and public health sectors. This is a spot where I can cut past jargon, buzzwords, and textbook answers. Instead, I hope to pose questions, and offer ideas to help others take action.

I intend for this blog to highlight lessons learned, and lightbulb moments I've had throughout my career, as well as to highlight emerging trends and observations from current projects. Some ideas I'm excited to bring to life include case studies on projects, speaking with colleagues on the ground about their experience day-to-day doing QI, and TED style talks on QI tools and concepts. I know taking this opportunity is going to allow me to continue to evolve, and as S4HQ grows, this is a space that will certainly be evolving with it. Thanks so much for checking us out. Do you have a burning QI question? Is there something you've learned in QI that never seems practical in real work? Let me know, and I'd love to explore it further on the blog.
